I have found new victims in Forsyth Co. as of two days ago which is sad. As for those of you who are still not sure what to do I will list possibilities again.
*Contact the police department where the crime occurred.
*If work was done in your home then you can go to the magistrate's office in your county and take out warrants for failing to finish a job. (charge listed in previous posts)
*If work was not done and money was paid a POLICE OFFICER will have to take this charge out because this is a FELONY.
*If work was not done in your home you can still go yourself to the magistrate's office and take out the misdemeanor charge however the contact with the police department is CRUCIAL!
*If worthless checks were written make sure you advise the police officer taking the report of this as well!
*GATHER ALL OF YOUR INFO PERTAINING TO DAVID FREEMAN AND YOUR JOB AND KEEP IT IN A SAFE LOCATION!!! THIS INFO WILL BE NEEDED FOR COURT!

PREPARATION & COURT PROCEDURE
Ok folks David's first court date is rapidly approaching! If you have a court date just make sure you have any and ALL information pertaining to your case including; contracts, photos, emails, voice recordings, copies of checks, statements from the bank saying that checks are worthless, etc. ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING!!! Even if your case is continued which is possible you want to be prepared for trial!
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GO TO COURT FOR YOUR COURT CASE: Be at court at 8:30am. The Assistant District Attorney will do roll call. When they state David Freeman you are to say "VICTIM". Say this loud and clear! They might move you to a certain section of the court room (usually near the front on the left in High Point) where the victims sit. After that they will go down the court docket seeing to each matter. When it is time for your case to come before the judge make sure you have prepared what you want to say that way you get to include EVERYTHING! This is super important! Judges will cut you off from speaking if they think that you are just going off on a tangent.
Continuing David's Cases: It is possible that a court will continue the case until another date/time. If this is the case you will not know until that morning. They will give you the new date if this is decided by the court.
****Until Monday I will not be near my phone because I am saying goodbye to my husband! Yes, I actually get to see him for the second time in 6 months before his deployment!

It is amazing how much weight this one little word can hold. When this word is violated the result is dramatic. That in itself is where we as victims are left. Our trust has been destroyed.
What David has done reaches out to aspects of people's lives far greater than a kitchen or a bathroom. The colossal web of destruction will aftershock all of us for years to come.
Some of us have taken out loans, some of us have spent years of savings, some of us have scraped up just enough money to make our home "beautiful and breathtaking" as David promised us. This money was money intended for our children's futures, our mortgage, our elderly parents, our special needs children, the life and survival of the family business in the hard economic times, but most importantly the security of our families.
David has entered into our most personal and sacred space, our homes and created chaos and pandemonium. He has left our spaces in disarray and our bank accounts empty. This leaves all of us in hysteria and truly concerned over where to go from here. We no longer trust contractors/subcontractors or salesman. And even with their assurance, we are reluctant to trust these professionals. Because of this we spend our time on DIY projects that are below our standards yet we know we can count on ourselves to complete the project. Contractors and subcontractors now suffer because our now extreme cautious behavior warns others from having any work done in their homes for fear they too could end as we have. The web continues to grow leaving subcontractors without work and thus their families suffer. We can no longer afford the summer vacation we had planned, the new accessories for our home, the gift for our child or spouse, or the remodel of our kitchen or bath. All of this is because of David Freeman.
We will all overcome this one day however, the damage that has been created because of this man is detrimental.

DAVID FREEMAN: Civil Charges...You can't get blood from a turnip
So I have contemplated civil court for awhile now. As many of you have heard me say, "you can't get blood from a turnip" is a theory that applies to Freeman. Well today I went ahead with the process. Let me tell you, it is EXPENSIVE! $70 check to the Clerk of court and a $15 check to the Guilford County Sheriff Dept. has left me $85 less wealthy than when I woke up this morning. Do I think that David will return my money???? NO! I see it as routine logistics.
I know that some others have filed civilly with no result and well I am faced with the fact that this too will probably be my fate. I just don't want a court to ask me "have you filed civilly?" and my answer to be "No". I want to take every step I can to ensure others that I have attempted to gain my money and services appropriately without any progress or effort on behalf of David Freeman to complete my job or pay me back for the losses.
June 14th, 2010 at 2pm in Greensboro a civil court will decide the fate of my civil case.
If a civil court does decide in my favor and David Freeman does not deliver on his judgement a lien will be placed out against him. This will result in him never being able to purchase a vehicle, home, etc before the lien is paid.
David Freeman probably has numerous liens against him currently from others across the nation however, I am not able to confirm same. This makes sense as to why he has no personal assets.
Just feel that I should keep everyone up to date on my status and what I am doing...

It's been a few days
So it has been a few days which I apologize for but I have been so busy. I went to first appearances on Friday in High Point and spoke again on behalf of all of us.
David has another first appearance Monday at 2pm in Greensboro on the second floor.

A GREAT DAY IN COURT!
David had yet another first appearance in Greensboro today. It was nice to finally meet so many of you!
As of midnight 5/13/2010 his bond is $90,000! THAT IS FANTASTIC FOLKS! Everyone seems to be doing their part to ensure that this man does not do this to anyone else!
David will have another first appearance in High Point tomorrow 5/14/2010 at 11:00am. I will be there and I hope to see meet some more of y'all!
Just wanted to explain first appearances to those who are not familiar with the criminal justice system (aka everyone except for David). Here is how it works....
You take out a warrant. Or the detective takes out a warrant. The warrant is served on David. David goes before a magistrate. The magistrate sets a bond on David. The next business morning David will go before a judge in the city the warrant was taken out in. This judge will look at the bond set by the magistrate and determine if the bond needs to be raised, lowered, kept the same based on guidelines and state regulations. (this is why it is helpful when we are there to speak on behalf of all of the victims) The judge then tells David his court date again and first appearances are over at this time. The bond will not change on that charge, it will remain the same until his court date where the story will be heard. This court date ALL information will be needed regarding your case so make sure you are prepared!!!*****
David will have first appearances on each one of the warrants that is served on him.
I will definitely post court dates where trials, judgments will be made because these will be even more crucial for attendance on behalf of the victims! THE MORE THERE THE BETTER!!!

"LITTLE STUPID WEBSITE"
I haven't had my phone all day and it seemed like an eternity before I could get back and get it. I listened to my messages and well, wow is all I have to say...
My messages consisted of the following:
I have another new victim which is disappointing, a few messages from excited victims thrilled that David's bond continues to rise, and finally a message from a plumber that was sent to my house to do the work (will remain nameless at this point.
BACKGROUND: The plumber was sent to hook up the water and disposal. I had to have disposal hooked up two days later by another plumber because the original one did not take off the protector piece and as a result the disposal did not work. Well this message which is saved on my phone stated, "I don't care if you are a cop or not. It doesn't make a damn to me. We can confront face to face."
I was also told to get my facts straight on "Your little stupid website". Well folks as all of you know I have not published anything that can not be followed up with facts. SO I WILL CONTINUE TO POST THE TRUTH ON MY "LITTLE STUPID WEBSITE" so y'all can continue to be updated and hopefully others will not be struck by someone like David. : )

First Appearances
I just was told by the Guilford County Jail that his First Appearance will be 5/11/10 at 2pm. I HAVE TO WORK ; ( So I will not be able to make this one. If anyone does make it please comment on the blog to let everyone know how it went!
As of 1:30am
David Freeman is under a $1,000 bond in the Guilford County Jail. According to the Greensboro magistrate there was only one warrant served on him. The Davie Co. warrants are still outstanding. (REASONS UNKNOWN) I contacted Davie Co. at 1:30am and advised them that he was locked up in Greensboro and that he would be attempting to get out if those warrants were not served on him. They stated that they would be contacting Greensboro about this.

David Earl Freeman is no longer a FREE-MAN!!!
Thanks to the hard work of so many and especially a few (you know who you are) David Freeman has been apprehended!!! I can not tell you how happy this makes me! I don't know all the logistics as of right this second as far as first appearances, court dates, bond, etc. but I felt it was imperative that I go ahead and put this up!
TO DAVID: If you are ever able to read this here is a message for you. I have heard through the grapevine that you have been reading this blog...to that I say FANTASTIC!!! You know that so many of us are serious about seeking justice for the damage that YOU caused! You have destroyed so much for so many people and the justice system while it is a slow process, is a just one. Karma has finally caught up with you! I will be there every chance I get to see you look justice in the face.

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there! I was hoping to be able to bring the one gift that would blow everyone away, David no longer a "Free-man". I have no indication as of this moment that he has been incarcerated. I was working tonight and things were CRAZY so I will try to make some more calls tomorrow before I go in. Keep your heads up and keep the fight strong!

I haven't heard any updates as of late on Mr Freeman. I do have to report that I received 2 new names of victims today which is beyond frustrating yet not surprising.
I have spoken with a detective in Davie Co and a deputy in Surry Co and both are on our side! This is GREAT news!

I have been hearing that some of y'all have been taking action have gone to the magistrate's office and have contacted the police department! I AM PROUD OF YOU THIS IS A HUGE STEP TOWARD PUTTING HIM AWAY!!
Don't forget to check with your insurance company to find out if it could be filed as a loss/theft. Also check with a tax expert to see if you could file it on next year's taxes.
The misdemeanor charge that you can take out at the magistrate's office if the magistrate allows:

This means you paid him and he didn't do the work...pretty much how David operated in his daily life

A man who has allegedly bilked dozens of customers out of deposits paid for cabinets and countertops had three cases bound to the Grand Jury on Thursday.
A number of those who say they are victims of David Earl Freeman watched in the courtroom of General Sessions Court Judge Ron Durby.
Ben Crownover said there were 30 victims in court, and there are numerous others he has located.
Freeman, 48, of Belvoir Avenue, is free on three $5,000 bonds.
Mr. Crownover said he was referred to Freeman by builder Johnny Johnson. He said he agreed to buy cabinets from Freeman and paid him $5,500 upfront. He said he never got the cabinets.
Mr. Crownover said he went to the firm where Freeman was to have gotten the cabinets and was told of other "victims." He said he also went to a countertop company and was given more names.
He said Freeman takes orders for cabinets and countertops, gets deposits of 50 percent or more of the price, then doesn't deliver.
Mr. Crownover, "There are some people here from Walker County. We hear there are victims in Cumberland County."
One angry man at the courthouse called Freeman "a predator."
Another said his mother-in-law had given Freeman $4,000 and never got any cabinets.
Freeman is charged with three counts of misappropriation of contracts.

Where we stand as of today
Well folks, I know everyone is anxious to see this come to an end and SO AM I but when things are done correctly it takes time! As I have told y'all before everyone needs to be contacting their respected agency to file their report. If nothing motivates you let this...David has told someone that he can't wait to get out and get back to work. He said he is not worried about the legal stuff because it is "only civil". WRONG DAVID!!! Let's show him that we are serious! While best case scenario is for you to get a detective to take your case and they investigate it for a felony, the misdemeanor charge I listed (yesterday I believe) will still make an impact! ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING SO DO NOT SIT BACK AND BE A VICTIM! IT IS UP TO YOU!!

So where do we go from here...
If you have made your police report and/or gone to the magistrate's office and taken out your warrants you are probably coming back to your house and looking at it thinking to yourself, "now what?"
Just because the legal matters have been handled (the first stage at least) this definitely does not mean that your kitchen/bath miraculously was completed as well. If only we could make that happen! I have listed below a list of people that have worked in some of the homes of David's victims that did a great job. As some of us know, the workers that were in our homes were fantastic (majority), the work just was never completed due to the fact that David never paid them. I have had a lot of you contact me asking who to hire from here...I really don't know but I can pass along the list of people that have been recommended to me by others and have not have any negative remarks. I do recommend that you investigate each one of the following to make your own decision prior to hiring and do not sign your contract for the simple fact that they were listed below.

I have confirmation that 2 warrants have been taken out on Mr David Earl Freeman!!!!
NEXT:
People need to do what they can to file a police report. The more documentation they have on the issue the better. This report may also be necessary if people end up filing with insurance, taxes, etc. It has been stated to me that it may be possible for people to write this off as a "bad tax expense" on next years taxes. I am not sure about this and will follow up on this to let y'all know. You may want to ask your tax agent.
***IF YOU ARE ONE THAT HAS BEEN TOLD THAT YOUR CASE IS CIVIL MAKE SURE YOU STILL ASK FOR SOME FORM OF REPORT NUMBER FOR YOUR FILE. THE MORE DOCUMENTATION YOU HAVE ON THIS THE BETTER. From here you need to go to the magistrate's office in the county the crime took place. You can take out a misdemeanor warrant.
One charge that applies to EVERYONE is G.S. 14-404 Obtaining advances under promise to work and pay for same.
If any person, with intent to cheat or defraud another, shall obtain any advances in money, provisions, goods, wares, or merchandise of any description from any other person or corporation up and by color of any promise or agreement that the person making the same will begin any work or labor of any description for such person or corporation from whom the advances are obtained, and the person making the promise or agreement shall willfully fail, without a lawful excuse, to commence or complete such work according to contract, he shall be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor.
This is just one charge and I am trying to find ones that apply to others with more "ooomph" without them becoming civil issues. Just an option for everyone to have a charge taken out!!!

Upset the number of "victims" has steadily increased
Well folks I hate to announce that the number of "victims" has increased today by 5 families (spoken to 3 personally still waiting on call backs from 2 others). This is so depressing especially since the last one signed their contract the last week of April according to one source. THIS MADNESS HAS GOT TO STOP! I also have unconfirmed reports that David was supposed to install cabinets in someone's house on Saturday and is in the process of conning people out of cabinets/services in Fayetteville.
I had someone ask me today why am I doing this...the answer is so simple. It is not just the fact that I have sworn to uphold the law it is the fact that it is doing what is right! This man has taken so much from so many innocent families, people, children's futures, savings, dreams, and lives. But most of all this man took the last week I had with my husband here in NC away from us and he took time away from our honeymoon all because his own selfishness. I will never be able to forgive myself or him if anything were to happen to Justin while he is in Afghanistan. I was so preoccupied with the madness caused by David Freeman that he even conned me out of loving my husband when it meant the most....TAKING MOMENTS LIKE THIS AWAY FROM THOSE WHO DON'T DESERVE THAT IS WHY I AM DOING THIS!!!! And mark my words I will not stop until I have done all I can do to ensure he does not cause one more tear to be shed.

Update on May 1st Fayetteville Post!
I was advised that a post had been placed onto Craigslist. The person listing the add for The Cabinet Warehouse's Grand Opening was "Allen" an employee of David's. These listings were up as late as May 1st, 2010. This enraged me! I responded to this post on the site advising people that this was a SCAM!!!
Well the post has all of a sudden disappeared as of this morning.
Allen has not yet called me back. I did not leave my name hoping that there would be no association and he would call me back so I could talk to him but nope...no call.
At least as of today here are no postings today by the con artists on the Fayetteville site that I found!
MY GOAL IS TO STOP THIS AND END THE INCREASING LARGE NUMBER OF VICTIMS!

Allen has not yet called me back. I did not leave my name hoping that there would be no association and he would call me back so I could talk to him but nope...no call.
At least as of today here are no postings today by the con artists on the Fayetteville site that I found!
MY GOAL IS TO STOP THIS AND END THE INCREASING LARGE NUMBER OF VICTIMS!

The Con Continues! "Allen" and Craigslist Postings are updated today
Thank you for the email forward R. I have been busy working on the actual paperwork and contacting people that I might have missed this one today!
Ok folks there are still postings from The Cabinet Warehouse even after the warehouse has been cleared out, the money is long gone (to where nobody knows and we all speculate), Mr Freeman is "getting help" and we are all pushing forth with legal action! THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM!!!
I have contacted the number for "Allen" because I want to speak to him! If he is advertising to have all these cabinets when they are non existent and he knows this then he is JUST AS GUILTY!!!
